Welcome to the first step of your new journey

It can seem daunting at times to think of ways to move forward. This is what counselling is for. Support you through your very own journey and help you grow at your own pace. I will listen to you with empathy in a non-jugemental way.

Express, Explore, Discover yourself

What is Person-centered Counselling in a nutshell?

The Person-centered approach in counselling is a non-directive way of helping clients help themselves. It is what we call unconditionial positive regard. It also provides an empathic listening space and a closer relationship with the clients as the counsellor is fully present with them. The clients are the experts rather than the professional telling them what to do.

This is the method I use as a default. I give the time and the space to my clients to explore what they want without directing them towards a solution but rather allowing them to explore themselves at their own pace.

What is CBT Counselling in a nutshell?

The CBT or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approach is slightly more directive and can be very helpful for difficulties that Person-centered might be limited in. It can provide more exercises (or homeworks) and methods to start or break a habit for example. More than exploring, it helps bring ideas, test out method. It's a more active way of exploring.

This is why I also use this method should the need for my clients arise. I have found it very useful for my clients in the case of phobias, fears, recurring negative thoughts etc.
